24 September 2024
Copenhagen, Denmark and online

On the eve of World Pharmacists Day 2024, WHO/Europe, in association with the International Pharmacists Federation (FIP), is organizing a symposium to discuss how pharmacists can and should contribute to health-care delivery, including how their roles can be part of a multidisciplinary approach to health in hospital and community settings.

Purpose

Bringing together policy-makers and representatives from professional communities of pharmacists, the event has the objectives of:

  • outlining good practices in expanding pharmacists’ roles beyond the traditional supply and dispensing of medical products;
  • raising awareness of the key contributions pharmacists are making to improve patient care and the performance of health systems across the WHO European Region; and
  • highlighting the role of pharmacists in reducing the burden on other health professionals through the prudent use of medicines, vaccination, preventing antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and managing chronic conditions and minor ailments.

The event will be live-streamed from UN City, Copenhagen from 15:30 CET and is expected to run for 2 hours. To register your online participation, please visit: Registration form.
